Dance Music .Namely King Unique

When I was little, I always use to think that Dance music was bad music. Music that you'd have to take too many drungs appreciate, which just did the same thing all the time and didn't really have any real beauty anywhere. I hadn't really thought it through as I was quite liking the energy and beats in Drum and Bass. And the agression too; I was quite an angry kid.

Eventually I actually went for a club and shifted around nervously and then decided that I quite liked "Dance Music" and the more I actually danced the more I liked it; the agression of drum and bass was nice, but I grew out of teenage angst phase the D n B sort of went with it too.

I listen to lots of stuff but when feeling jumpy I've settled on house music; it's not too fast so dancing is soothing rather than frantic and the tempo leaves scope for alot more interesting stuff to happen; Not all house, mind. Dave Guetta can guetta fuck out of here.

King Unique are ace. They've been giving out free mixes (or Broadcasts as they want me to call them) for years and they're all a good listen. Each mix is a varied affair; Take Broadcast 8 for example; it starts with a broody, moody tune that might accompany sunrise in a deserted city, then we have a warm deep song not feeling remotely deserted, but as they're good Djs it works. Sometimes beautiful (The beginning of Broadcast 10),powerfull, it's often stomping music, whether in a club or through the rain (ive noticed you can usually walk in time with it; It's nice) but always very polished and an interesting listen. If your not sure about it all go here and give them a go. There are loads to choose from "MattThomas_KU_08_06.mp3" is a great start.

And yes definalty some sounds like gibbering sweaty tosspot druggie music, but sometimes you see gibbering sweaty tosspots in clubs, but you can always walk or skip past them.
